Volunteer Opportunities
Students in various grades are given opportunities to volunteer for service activities.
These experiences provide opportunities for student to develop leadership skills and a sense of pride and ownership in running the school. Volunteer experiences include:
- Office helpers
- Library club
- Recycling club
- School patrols
- Gym set-up crew
- Milk program helpers
- Door monitors
- Student Council
Buddy Classes
All classes are buddied, generally an older class with a younger class, for planned shared experiences throughout the year. Many worthwhile experiences, such as shared art activities, writing support, reading, and safety activities are planned for these cross grade groupings.
Clubs/Activities
Student Council all students are invited to participate in the Student Council. It is made up of students from each class is grades 1 to 6. Students meet weekly to plan school spirit days, special events, service projects and fun lunches. Students report back to their classes through presentations and posters.
Running Club Students from grades 3 to 6 can join the Patricia Heights Running Club. Each year we participate in various outdoor cross country races during September and October. After the winter break we attend a variety of indoor races. We also have a running club for students in grades 1 and 2 intermittently throughout the school year.
