Parent Involvement
Patricia Heights School has two active parent groups.
The Patricia Heights School Council is a group of parents and teachers working together to advise the principal about school matters. The School Council is an opportunity for participation in school decision making. It helps to represent the views of the people in the school community and develops the culture of the school. The school council does not fundraise.
At School Council meetings you can find out what is happening at Patricia Heights School such as special events, school test results, new equipment, information on District initiatives, and guest speakers. Teachers of Patricia Heights School also do presentations to the Council. You will be able to connect with other parents, discuss issues with the principal, and help to give ideas for solutions.
The Patricia Heights Parent Association is a separate group from the School Council. It is the fundraising group for the school and helps to raise money for extra items needed at the school. In the past, the Parent Association raised funds to purchase:
- Smart boards
- Chromebooks
- Hand bells
- Home Reading and Library books
- Special events and field trips
- Sports equipment
The Parent Association meetings take place on the same night as the School Council. Come to the meeting to have a say in how fundraising money is spent and to organize future fundraising events!
